About My Rajasthan Vlog

A travel platform covering Rajasthan from the inside

My Rajasthan Vlog

The Story Behind This Site

My Rajasthan Vlog started from a simple frustration — most travel content about Rajasthan covers the same dozen places in exactly the same way.

Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur — the usual triangle, the usual shots of amber forts at sunset and blue city rooftops. There's nothing wrong with any of it. Those places are famous for good reason. But Rajasthan is India's largest state, and what makes it genuinely interesting goes far beyond what ends up in travel brochures.

This site exists to cover the rest of it — places I've actually been, routes I've actually driven, temples and forts and landscapes that don't always make international travel lists but are worth your time. When a place is famous, I try to write about it in a way that's actually useful rather than just descriptive: what to look for, when to go, what most people miss, and what isn't worth the effort.

What You'll Find Here

The site currently covers destinations across Rajasthan — primarily the Ajmer district and Jaipur, with more being added regularly. Each blog covers a single destination in depth: the history and context, practical travel information (getting there, when to go, what it costs), photography tips, and an honest assessment of whether it's worth the trip.

The focus is on:

  • Honest, firsthand accounts — not press releases or copied descriptions
  • Practical detail — actual auto fares, realistic timings, what doesn't work as well as what does
  • Offbeat alongside the famous — the Kishangarh marble dump alongside Amer Fort
  • Context that makes places more interesting — the history and architecture behind the buildings, not just what they look like

The Coverage Area

Rajasthan is enormous — it covers more area than most countries in Europe. The focus here is primarily on central and eastern Rajasthan: Jaipur and its surroundings, the Ajmer-Pushkar area, and the routes between them. This is the part of Rajasthan I know best and can write about with the kind of specific, current detail that actually helps when you're planning a trip.

Coverage of western Rajasthan — Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Bikaner — is in progress and will be added as I travel and document those areas properly.

Stay Connected

New destination guides are published regularly. If you're planning a trip to Rajasthan and want to know about a specific place, or if you have questions about logistics or routes, the best way to reach me is through the Contact page.

Covering Rajasthan, India

Based in Rajasthan and writing about it from the inside — the temples, forts, landscapes, and offbeat destinations that make this state worth more than a three-city itinerary.
